Buyout Alert!

So this past Monday, I went to Nakumatt to buy a cheap conditioner, Suave Naturals, to co-wash off my henna gloss. Not only did I NOT find it, I found none of the other curly-girl-friendly usual suspects.

What I did find, however, was a product I hadn't used before, Timotei Pure, so I bought it, tried it and loved it. I posted a review on Facebook as we naturals are always on the hunt for a cone- and paraben-free conditioner.

Today I happen to be in Nakumatt on a non hair-related errand and I'm on the phone with a friend who asks me to pick her up a few bottles. (4!) I get to the conditioners and find that in the two days since I was last there, the numbers have dwindled fast! The jungle drums have been beating! I grab 3 for myself (couldn't bring myself to make it 4) and head off, leaving about 6 large bottles behind. There are still small ones left; 200ml for 290 Kshs.

My pet peeve with the supermarkets here is how inconsistent their supplies are. Which causes this kind of frenzied buying that most people don't understand. I live with this constant fear that I will run out of conditioner so when I see it, I buy it. Lots of it. It's like being at an all-you-can-eat-one-plate-only buffet. You know you probably won't eat that much but you can't help piling that plate high, just in case.

Well, my conditioner plate runneth over. For now.

Don't say I didn't warn you!
